When working with Siri, try slowing down or speeding up your voice. I find that if I try to mimic a slow talking drunk person Siri will just about always get my request correct. I've also found speaking words with very small gaps between each of the words works well--its as if Siri needs to process each word before moving on to the next. I know one should speak normally, but finding different ways of talking to Siri works best. You will sound a bit crazy at first, but in time you will learn your best speech pattern for yielding best results.
I want to also add that this technique will not improve Siri's understanding of what it is you would like to do, it will only change the way Siri pronounces uncommon words such as people's names.
