Another thing I always consider before upgrading is how well the apps I
normally use work with the new version of ios. Why upgrade and have to deal
with problems when everything is currently working well.
With ios 7, I did not upgrade until January, and it was mainly because of
problems within apps I normally use. I wanted to enjoy the new features like
everyone else, but I did not want to deal with the problems. It really comes
down to preference, and what you want to put up with.
I plan on upgrading to an iphone 6, but do not see me doing so before November.
This will hopefully give Apple time to smush some of the bugs, plus give app
developers time to correct any problems that come up with ios 8.
I just think it is worth it if I wait. Plus in the end, I still get to enjoy
all the new features like everyone else.
