I chose the case because the external is just another thing to carry around,
and potentially to be lost or stolen.

Battery life on the iPhone 6 is noticeably improved due to the new iOS 8
processor which uses the 20 Nanometer technology and is much more power
efficient. I think we will see improvements in battery life over the next
few years rather than the other way around. Battery life on my 5S with iOS
7 is no worse than what it was on my 4S with iOS 5 or iOS 6.

I think a battery case is almost a must if you make heavy use of GPS apps,
especially after the huge hit the iPhone 5 battery took from IOS 7. I
wouldn't be surprised if IOS 9 cuts battery life in half a year down the
road.
