Speaking of batteries, I haven't heard what type of connector will work with
the iPhone 6 and 6 plus. Will it still be the lightning connector, I hope?
Also do either or both have a wireless recharging capability?

Yeah, me too. I have a 4S right now, and plan to upgrade to the 6. If I had
a battery case instead of just an external battery with USB ports, I'd be
sunk and would have to by another battery case with a lightning connector.
Plus, a regular external is more versatile and lets you charge other devices
besides your size iPhone.

Battery life on the iPhone 6 is noticeably improved due to the new iOS 8
processor which uses the 20 Nanometer technology and is much more power
efficient. I think we will see improvements in battery life over the next
few years rather than the other way around. Battery life on my 5S with
iOS 7 is no worse than what it was on my 4S with iOS 5 or iOS 6.

I think a battery case is almost a must if you make heavy use of GPS
apps, especially after the huge hit the iPhone 5 battery took from IOS 7.
I wouldn't be surprised if IOS 9 cuts battery life in half a year down
the road.
