Works with iOS 8 with limitations. Apple does their best to support older 
hardware, and does a better job than Google and Microsoft. Good luck getting 
the latest version "of Android working on a four year old Android phone. I also 
used to have similar problems getting new versions of Windows working on four 
year old computers.

The fact is, technology is always changing. Moore's Law states that device 
power will double every 18 months. So, a four year old device, such as an 
iPhone 4S, is the great grandfather to the iphone 6 (three generations ago).
