Okay, I turned it off. Now when I launch money reader, it opens and immediately closes without saying anything.

In the list of apps, find Money Reader and see if it is on or off. 3. If it is off, double tap to turn it on. This will let the app access the camera; it sounds like it might not have that permission right now.
