Regardless of which GPS app you choose, you should not follow the directions to the letter. Obviously, if there is a street running parallel to you, and the device says to turn right, you don't do it right then. You would turn at your next opportunity, such as at the end of the block or into the next driveway or something like that. A GPS is merely a navigation tool, and you should never rely on it totally. This is usually stated in the agreement or disclaimer when you first open the app.

Subject: Seeing Eye GPS App, Worth it?

Hi

Our iPhone users' group has been doing some comparisons of GPS and the UK version of this didn't do well. It got one of our members to the place where we meet, but then advised him to turn right from the pavement/sidewalk to get into building which, unfortunately meant they would have ended up playing with the traffic, rather than in the building they wanted. Fortunately, he knew where he was.

Others who tried it didn't see any great advantages in it over the free Apple Maps, but then there is quite good data for that where we are.

Best

Adrienne
