Also, if you could ascertain whether this occurs when using another
flavor of VNC viewer, such as TigerVNC 1.2 or RealVNC, that would be
helpful.  Assuming the issue isn't something Xt-specific, then if it
doesn't occur in another flavor, I could probably just look at what
they're doing and do likewise.
