Dear Darrell,

I am sorry, I did not mean to offend...

I understand and I've recommended to our boss that he'll donate
something. We appreciate your work much.

Agreed, but we are able to reproduce it by starting vncviewer, enetering
fullscreen mode and then just wait some 5 to 10 minutes - keyboard will
be disconnected. We have this on three identical machines all with
updated Ubuntu 10.4 32 bit). We suspect that the error reoccurred since
on of the updates in February (for some time before, it worked fine).

As I workaround, I was only wondering if there is a message that could
be passed to the running vncviewer instance to "reconnect" the keyboard
or something of that kind. Another idea might be to give us an
opportunity to reconnect the keyboard with some special mouse actions.

By the way: If I am in fullscreen mode (with keyboard still functioning)
and press F8 in order to turn off fullscreen mode, it will not allow
that (screen flickers but does not leave fullscreen mode). So the only
way to end fulscreen mode is to end the viewer (its not a problem for
us, just FYI).

However, as you suggested, I've added the file Vncviewer with
*grabKeyboard: off and we're testing that right now. Thanks anyway..

Il will also systematically test TigerVNC viewers (newest beta) versus
our TurboVNC server (newest beta) ASAP and tell you the result. I'll do
this when the coworkers are gone..

Andreas
