I'm using only visdn core (without asterisk) for doing passive
monitoring of E1. I could help with development it further for better
usability and simpler and faster configuration.

I suppose, that this solution would include usage of (evil!)
proprietary Kernel modules? I'm using vISDN in TE-Mode at the Moment
which is somewhat stable, but would certainly need some improvement.
I had more issues with mISDN and BRIstuff however.
