Our network security people have set up a syslog consolidation server. They
eventually would like ALL servers under our control to send their syslog (or
some subset) to this single collection point. I have already started sending
some of my linux syslog data to them. They are completely inexperienced with
z/VM or z/OS system logs and would probably overlook us if we did not attempt
to join in the consolidation, but I would like to try anyway.
Has anyone tried sending all of their OPERATOR log messages to a networked
syslog facility? Some subset of the messages as via a PROP action routine or a
separate SVM? How about individual messages from a rexx program in some SVM?
