Is it? When would this be a desired condition? Our config would have an
address 3312 and when I write to this address I'd expect to write to 3312
and not to a random other dasd as we did in this case. To me it seemds like
I do not have control on where my writes are placed. Perhaps because VM will
dynamically direct an IO to one of the channels?

To be accurate, I do not wish to have control on what channels are used. I'd
expect VM to balance the load on the channels that are available to VM and I
also expect our hardwareguys to connect the cables in the right way.
