I am not sure if this is done any more, but if you wanted 2 OS or VSE
systems to share a volume with thier using native sharing controls, so
if you had a disk at address "C0" that could be gotten to by channels
"9" and "E", instead of defining it as 1 disk with 2 paths, you defined
it as 2 disks, "9C0" and "EC0" and attach them to the 2 guests.

Your problem was a cableing error that VM has no means to detect.
