We are using it in our shop. We have VM Focus from Information Builders and we use it a lot to pull data out of VSAM files maintained by CICS applications. They also run focus reports against the VSAM files to pull out these big static data files which they pull out of VM and use to update a DB2 database running on AIX. Since I found out about the VSAM redirector of VSE 2.5, and nobody was interested in paying lots of money for DB2 for VM, I pushed that alternative in our shop. Oh well, looks more and more like we'll get our licenses for SCT/Sungard products for Windows and put a tiny-tiny VSE 2.7 system on Flex-ES until the cobol programers retire or the third-party vendor drops support.
