We use CA's TPX, and CONNECT:Direct from Sterling Commerce. Both use
VSAM for their system data files

Yes, we do a lot of work with VSE/VSAM. We don't have VSAM
files in CMS but we access VSE VSAM files with the PIPE NASHVSAM
stage and with REXXVSAM as well as copying VSAM files from/to VSE
ans CMS.
The VSAMIO in VSE is very slow. It is usually faster to copy a
VSAM file to CMS and do the REXX work and then copy the file
back to VSE.
