So much for hanging back in the shadows after Mike's comments... hook, line and sinker.
MVMRUG is a great one-day opportunity to hear a few hot topics and talk to others that are close to VM and zLinux, but I have to admit that it may not be the best for folks brand new to VM and/or zLinux. Besides attending specific formal classes (read: big buck$), SHARE is actually the best in quality, quantity and bang for the buck. I have even heard fellow VMers that have been doing this stuff for 20+ years say two or three days into the conference that their head was going to explode from so much information. Thank goodness for SCIDS.... err, the "receptions"... so that we can reset for the next day! MVMRUG is certainly something to sign up for and attend, especially since it is free and you can meet contacts around the mid-Ohio area. If the training funds are available, SHARE is an excellent choice to get up to speed on VM & zLinux though and make contacts all around the world. _______________________________________ James Vincent Systems Engineering Consultant Nationwide Services Co., Technology Infrastructure Engineering Mainframe, z/VM and z/Linux Support One Nationwide Plaza 3-25-02 Columbus OH 43215-2220 U.S.A Voice: (614) 249-5547 Fax: (614) 677-7681 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
