S'ok, don't worry. The VM and MVS FTP servers add the FIXRECFM to the 125 response in order to convey recfm. However, it's only [supposed to be] used for TYPE I (binary) transfers. Perhaps 'ascii', 'site notrailingblanks', and 'locsite var' will get you what you want.
