Yet another XEDIT ring macro ... Here's the RING XEDIT macro that will,
if given a number, go to the nth file in the XEDIT ring. If not given a
number, it will display the results of a QUERY RING command to display
numbers associated with files in the ring and then the macro will prompt
for a number.

With numerous files in the ring, the CANCEL command is useful to
remember. It will QUIT all files in the ring except those that are
changed.

The RING XEDIT file follows:
/* XEDIT the nth file in the XEDIT ring */
Trace O
Parse Arg ring_number
'EXTRACT /RING'
If ring_number = '' Then Do
   Do i = 2 to ring.0
      'MSG' i-1 '-' ring.i
   End
   'MSG Enter file number'
   'READ CMDLINE'
   Parse Pull ring_number
End
ring_number = ring_number + 1
Parse Var ring.ring_number fn ft fm .
Push XEDIT fn ft fm
Exit

I hope this is useful.
Bruce

Here are two XEDIT macros to rotate thru the ring of files
/* UR = UpRing - Cestrian*/
"extract /ring"
if ring.0>2 then 'x' subword(ring.3,1,3)

/* DR = DownRing - Cestrian*/
"extract /ring"
i=ring.0
if ring.0>2 then 'x' subword(ring.i,1,3)
