Last I knew, GCC didn't work on VMS. (This was GCC 2.8.0, which had a 
broken code generator)  If it does, you can use it but you'll probably need 
to rebuild perl to use it.

You'll need a version of the module that's linked against the perl shared 
images you're using. (I presume you're using a prebuilt perl, since I know 
perl doesn't build with C++ on VMS at the moment) Maybe someone on the list 
can help you out here.
