I am having this message couldn4t open console after i have installed VNC. I
have tried changin permissions to /dev/console, but that was no effective.

THings i have found looking for an answer includes:

If you start X with startx, the permissions on /dev/console will not get
changed, resulting in things like xterm -C and xconsole not working.

This is because of the way console permissions are set by default. On a
multi-user system, one doesn't necessarily want just any user to be able to
write on the system console. For users who are logging directly onto a machine
with a VTY, the fbtab file exists to solve such problems.

In a nutshell, make sure an uncommented line of the form

        /dev/ttyv0 0600 /dev/console

I am running SUnos 5.7 and dont have any /etc/fttab here. I do have a file
called /etc/logindevperm, I tried includind a line like that in this file
but this didnt work too. THe only tty*0 files i have here are /dev/ttyp0,
/dev/ttyq0 and /dev/ttyr0.

Any help in order to have my console working again?

THanks,

Reinaldo
