You'll note that it was my request for help that triggered this. I did in fact read the documentation and you might also not that what I asked for was someone's assistance in interpreting some unfamiliar terms in it and perhaps a lead on some more 'plain language' documentation which someone new to the technology might find helpful.
Fortunately, a number of people were kind enough to respond with something more generous and meaningful than RTFM. Should you ever need to venture into my industry, and onto the similar list server I help run for it, you can have confidence that our members will be much more courteous, are anxious to help newcomers understand it, and won't blow you off with flip condescending responses without knowing what you've tried or haven't tried so far. If I can ever be of help to anyone, please don't hesitate to call on me. RTFM is a valid response in many cases. For one thing, it encourages others to do so before they ask a question, which is a Good Thing. I think I got upset the first couple of times I got that response. Then I grew a thicker skin and eventually realised *why* I got that response. -- Illtud Daniel [EMAIL PROTECTED] Uwch Ddadansoddwr Systemau Senior Systems Analyst Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru National Library of Wales Yn siarad drosof fy hun, nid LlGC - Speaking personally, not for NLW _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list _______________________________________________ VNC-List mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.realvnc.com/mailman/listinfo/vnc-list
