Well, first you'd have to teach people not to do this with an IP address they get by email, but only when you tell them your address over the phone and only if they recognize your voice. Then I'd say it's as secure as any other remote admin program that doesn't use cryptography. TCP connections can be eavesdropped and hijacked, and this can only be prevented with encryption.
