I checked out glance.net, so you are trying to have arbritary users see
your desktop, correct?

Crude method would be having the outside machine have a vnc server running
and a vncviewer in listening mode. You then make a winvnc -connect on your
PC to that machine. This should make it pass NAT or simple firewalls.

Have your guests use the java client to connect to the outside PC. Use the
best 8 character password you can. And if you disable the disconnect, more
than one guest can view your screen. Optimize all settings which may make
sense like disabling viewer interaction, user settings, etc.

Ideally, full screen on the viewer would be best. And consider the fact
that there would be no encryption. Others could watch anytime you are
connected to the outside machine. If, you forget that you are "live", the
world could be watching. I would change the vnc password often, very
often.

The outside machine could be linux, if licensing is an issue or you wish
to truly limit the extras. Windows or Linux, it will need firewalling of
some kind. A naked machine with broadband could be a risk to all of us.

One far out method, would be to modify a Bootable Linux CD-ROM distro for
this purpose. You could reboot to insure, its clean from hackers.

I offer no guarantee of the security of this idea, only that I think it
would work.
