This did not help me but may help others ???

I currently don't have a possibility to send to the list, maybe you
want to forward this

Observation:
Connecting to a vnc server MAY become impossible in certain cases and
configs despite the fact that e.g. gotomyvnc reports that the ports are
open, namely if the viewer and the server sit in the same intranet and
are
connected (in a particular case) via (s)dsl router to the internet.
In this case the router MAY possibly not allow a connection from
INTERNAL
viewer over the internet to an INTERNAL server via the (dynamic/fixed)
IP of
the router.
While connecting the viewer box by other means (e.g. modem/ISDN) AND
THEREBY
NOT using the public router adress will allow to connect to the server.

ex1
192.168.0.1 (viewer)  -->
                         |
                         -->192.168.0.254--->|
THIS MAY NOT WORK!!! |<-> PUBLIC IP<->
Internet
                         <-- 192.168.0.254<--|
                         |
192.268.0.2 (server)  <---

ex2:
w.x.y.z  (viewer)     -->   MODEM/ISDN ------| dyn IP----------------|
                                                                     |
                                                                     V
THIS Works                                                 |<--> PUBLIC IP
<-> Internet
                         <-- 192.168.0.254<--|
                         |
192.268.0.2 (server)  ---

cheers,
Dietmar
