There is no taskbar either, sorry if I wasn't clearer.
Basically the machine no longer resembles windows as
you know it.  Just the wallpaper, which you cannot
even drag anything to or right click for properties. 
And just a "My Documents" file explorer folder that is
automatically opened on bootup and that's it... I
couldn't find anything on the threads, so figured
there must be something lingering after an un-install,
etc.
