It would be best if VNC had an undisputed and active steward
with a recognized base version from which to make enhancements.
It was great that the development of TightVNC was made possible
by the open-source model, but at some point, the proper steward
should recognize good contributions by incorporating them back
into the "official" version.  (Maybe we'd then get TightVNC for
Macintosh!!)  Is anyone from AT&T Research even on this list?!
