We solve the problem be having our users disable the download/scan feature since nobody else is willing to believe there is a problem with their software. We have never seen this issue when NAV has NOT been installed, ever. I duplicated one issue in my lab and there was a very long discussion about it here. their was a issue with Vop/Modus that was either damaging the header or allowing damaged headers to be delivered that jammed NAV every time. I could open the message from the mailbox and edit the header to fix it and NAV would allow download. I could also edit a known good message and duplicate the problem. Vircom put a fix in Modus (do not know about Vop) that stopped the corrupt headers from making it to the mailbox. all you had to do was break the header with a . on a line by itself. This normally signifies the end of message, OE without NAV would download the message correctly, with NAV in the mix it would jam every time, and still will. This is just one of what seems to be many little issues with the header that will jam Norton, the date is another. Like I said before our fix it to disable the feature. How can you be unaware of all the complaints in the past over this? Look it up in Google, many have seen this, we still run into it weekly with users that have the before mentioned NAV versions. John, I jumped in this thread with an offer to help resolve this issue. I mentioned that I've not seen this issue with the latest versions. I am aware there where some issues with the 2001 product, I believe these have all been resolved. Every few months this issue comes up on this list and you blame NAV, other people point out (correctly) this also happens when NAV is not installed. I'm only interested in tracking down what is actually going on so it can be resolved one way or another, However, sadly its clear from your response your not interested in fixing the problem.
