David,

VOPMail and VPRRS have been abandoned, although it's not official. Perhaps
Vircom thinks it may get back to them in some time.

I would love to see VOPMail turned into a modusMail without the moduscan
service. That would be honest, IMHO. All the benefits from the mail server
itself would go to both plataforms, but VOPMail would remain without virus
and sieve, just the way modus is if you turn off moduscan.

VPRRS, OTOH, should have at least one person taking care of it, at least 50%
of the time. I'm sure all our support contracts cover that cost. We still
have no real support for a lot of stuff (specially wireless and DSL) and I
really don't see any changes coming.

Too bad.

Just one thing you must consider. A new policy at Vircom (about a year old)
says that if you don't renew your upgrade insurance when it expires then you
won't be able to renew it at a later time. To get a new version you'd have
to buy the product again.

Subject: [VOPmail Beta] changelog of vopmail ?

* This is the vopmailbeta mailing list *

There has not been a change in VOPMail for one year. No updates, no changes,
no massive failures, the company has not folded, canada is still on the map,
Yves still works for the company for all we know, and it appears that
VOPMail is the neglected child of the Vircom family of products now that big
brother modus has arrived and taken the center stage.
