This is a consideration.

It would be an easier decision if there were a list of goals for the
software, a list of known issues that are intended to be fixed. When there
is little to see about how the company itself sees the product then people
have to decide what is in their best interest.

For the cost of an annual upgrade fee, I can buy the license to another
product with unlimited domains, unlimited users, unlimited processors,
excellent webmail features, vibrant user community, (their entry level
product is free), built in anti-virus and (a bit limited) anti spam support
and a very stable product release. For a little more than an annual
contracts cost, you could get full SQL support, IMAP, Clustering, etc.

Of course, we use products because it is difficult to change to another one
but if a product is orphaned you have to consider all options.

Lets hope for the best for Vircom.
