I love this adaptation...  :-)

In a scientific work such as LENR, whether motes or logs (assuming, contrary to 
your perspectice effect above, that they are real), they are all worth 
learning, whatever the logs or entire forests in the critic's own work. I don't 
believe leniency drives progress nearly as well as criticism, even harsh 
criticism.

Since self leniency is more widespread than self criticism we have to rely on 
others for the latter, and we should thank them for that. Also, we should 
criticize others, it is the best way to benefit from their criticism in return.
