Howdy Philip and Bill,

Been an interesting and revealing thread.  Remember I was born three 
generations back.
Let me add a thought that touches on the " third rail" and can get me in all 
kinds of trouble...

women in the work place and positions of authority. 

Background.. it has only been this generation that has experienced a situation 
where women are in leadership positions in business, law and government. 

Has this resulted in a change in the dynamic of interaction between men in the 
scientific realm for the better or worse?
