I think that with cold fusion, we could easily stop global warming. See chapter 9 of my book, in which I take Ed to taks for saying what he said here. It would cost a lot of money but the steps we would take to do this would be immensely profitable in their own right, apart from the fact that they would stop global warming.
Perhaps we could do it with conventional energy as well, but it would be immensely expensive and difficult.
First of all, the warming is caused by several processes, only one of which we can control, i.e. CO2 emission.
