I think that with cold fusion, we could easily stop global warming. See chapter 9 of my book, in which I take Ed to taks for saying what he said here. Of course, CF could help. However, at least 10 years will be required to master CF and introduce it at high level into the energy system. The present system contains enormous financial and infrastructure inertia that prevents adding energy from any source very fast. I'm predicting that we will not be able to respond fast enough.

I have not heard this. What other processes contribute?

Warming is caused by increased volcanic activity, especially under the oceans, and by radiation from the Sun. Right now the Sun is at a solar minimum, but this will change.
