I think that it is clear to everyone that socialism, communism in anything like the form that we have seen in the past is not what anyone is talking about, not even the theory/ideals of Marxism would have any fans.
However something else that is differentiated from current so called capitalism or communism or any other type of ism would be desirable. No what I am talking about doesn't have a name but it is more social and so does sound a bit like socialism. And though I am talking about my own concept that I have developed I am sure that others when they speak positively about socialism have something much more like what I have in mind than anything resembling "socialism". Rather I think that your remark is more of a troll as I believe you know that full well. The relative success of democrats/left/liberals as leaders of countries and of developers of businesses as already mentioned is what is meant not anything resembling communism.
