I tried to discuss the work with them and I had trouble finding someone familiar with the project. I don't recall when Tom Passell retired from EPRI. He is one of these Energizer Bunny people who never stops working.

My analysis exactly. You'd have to ask the manager to whom McKubre reported . . .

That's Tom Passell.

, and it's entirely possible that there wasn't enough interest left for even that person to remember it.

He certainly remembers the project. He is still involved in cold fusion. I have often spoken with him, although I have not discussed this particular issue. What I meant was that I called EPRI about some other aspects of the McKubre work a few years ago, after Passell retired. He gave me the name of the person to call. Anyway, this person and the others did not know the first thing about McKubre's work. They were asking me questions about it. So they would not remember a correction he reported years after the fact.

It is a gigantic adjustment from a numerical standpoint, but given the size of the error bars and the difficulties of the measurement it is not so big. It just shows that helium studies are still in their infancy. That's what I told Krivit, but he didn't buy it.
