I should not criticize the mass media reporters for getting energy and power
units mixed up, I do it so often myself.

The difference is, I know the right answer, whereas they do not have a clue.

In the reporting about Fukushima, in both the U.S. and Japan, there has
been tremendous confusion about radiation and units of radiation measured
per hour and so on. There have also been unforgivably stupid comments such
as the NHK reporter who said that a dose of radiation reported in Tokyo was
only half as much as one medical x-ray, so there is nothing to worry about
(a dose measured per hour!), and some nitwit who said that the radiation in
the ocean has only been measured 300 m out, so don't panic. Ocean water does
not move? Fish don't swim?
