* * If you are really worried about independence, you should worry about the fact that Rossi is paying for the tests at U. Bologna out of his own pocket. Rossi has stated this, but there has been no confirmation from the University. Has the U. of Bologna received a single euro yet? How hard would it be for them to confirm it, if true? Has Rossi ever taught a class there, or is his "Professorship" part of the financial transaction? Does he receive a salary or is his association an honorarium? * * He is paying either 500,000 euros or 1 million euros. Who knows how much? Details like this often get mixed up when Rossi is involved. Anyway, it is a lot of money. Maybe so, but again, this is one of the troubling details (of many) which cannot be confirmed. Interested parties who have looked into the claimed "business sale" which supposedly provided the funds for all of this, have said that there is no record in Italy or the USA of Rossi having sold any business for a profit. Additionally, it has been noted that he still owes money from a previous bankruptcy, which is handled differently in Italy. This does not mean that the business sale did not happen, but normally there are public records. In fact, he may be trying to avoid taxes on that sale - if it did happen. which is troubling in itself. Stating that as a possibility would be inappropriate, if not libelous, except for what is on the record - that in addition to being convicted of toxic dumping in the mid-nineties (which he blames on the Mafia, and that part could be true) - there is a conviction for tax avoidance. I don't think he can blame the later on the Mafia. Yes, tax avoidance seems to be more common in Europe than here, especially with a nearby border to Switzerland (the World haven for tax avoiders). but, right or wrong, this may be the factor that answers many of the questions about how Rossi is handling the situation. Most of us would have little problem with his tax situation, given how corrupt Italy seems to be (Berlusconi's will have to give up a few "escorts") . that is: if it can be confirmed that he really did give the University 500,000 Euros for testing. It would at least double his credibility in the minds of many. I hope we will see some bit of confirmation soon (from the U of B), as lately Rossi has been on a downhill slalom run in terms of perceived honesty. But really - it is *only the Ni-H technology* that matters, and this has a long history of success going back to both Mills and Focardi twenty years ago. In fact, my prediction is that very soon you will see completely independent positive results for Ni-H coming from several highly credible US investigators. No doubt in my mind that the process works - but the big doubt is that whether it can be optimized without Rossi's help, and/or whether it is covered by Mills' IP. Most of us assume that if there is any radioactivity - it will not be covered by Mills. Jones
