Many people believe there is other good evidence that cold fusion is fusion,
not just the heat. For example, they point to tritium, and helium in the
same ratio to the heat as with plasma fusion. I realize that other people
question the tritium and helium, but the people who believe these two are
real are justified in believing that it must therefore be fusion.

People who are sure cold fusion produces tritium and helium say we are not
ignorant, and it makes no sense to "embrace genuine ignorance" as you put
it.
