Very interesting are the Schlieren photograpy demos where the water
flow is made visible.

This proves, it is not a water anomaly.
Remarkable is, they use 25 kV and the current is about 0.02 µA. This
gives 0.5 milliWatt.
Oil isolates quite well. So this should be possible at home.
