It seems conceivable to me that, at least from our level of perception, we simply may not be capable of perceiving the sentence of an intelligent network puttering about, doing its own thing. It also seems likely to me that the qualities of such an emergent network is still gestating on our planet. After all, it hasn't been around all that long. Give it time. It may surprise us soon enuf.
