I do not understand this comment. Cold fusion is based entirely on
reductionist materialism. That is the only reason we have to believe in it.

I am not critical of them. As far as I know, based on recent research,
there is no evidence they exist. That's all there is to it. They might
exist. I do not know of any theoretical reason why they shouldn't, given
the complexity of biology. But there is no evidence they do exist.

A placebo appears to be exactly the same as no treatment at all. That isn't
surprising.
