They should have sparged the steam to demonstrate the flow rate and total enthalpy. Better yet, increase the flow to keep the water from boiling away.
I do not buy the statement by Hadgichristos about the flow rate varying and the reactor temperature not rising. Where he says, "When coolant is in dry steam condition, flow is not constant. A pressure barrier within the coil surrounding the reactor creates flow flactuations . . ." Ed also pointed out this problem. This is not an adequate response. They should do this whole demo over again. They should rehearse beforehand with a script. They should make sure the third party engineering experts show up this time. When they finish, they should publish the results on line. It isn't as if there is a rule you can only do a demonstration once. - Jed
