from what they say, they use mu-metal and coils to screen magnetic fields.
Of course metal is used to block pressure and hydrogen leaks...
they claim 30-500keV gammas around background level.

you can notice it indirectly with the photography of a gamma measurement
(falsely attributed to vysotskii) that they have to sheld the detector from
the background and not the operator from the reactor.
