Bob, I plan to listen to the interview this afternoon. Spin coupling by magnetic interaction appears to have great promise in my opinion. And, the level of energy being released over a long period has convinced me that nuclear reactions are the only way for this to be possible.

I am not sure if he considers spin parameters of particles and systems are nuclear. He does not link spin and magnetism in his discussion. He does note that the production of neutrons happens with pure D in a magnetic field. However, he did not associate the neutrons with a nuclear reaction. I immediately thought of Cooper Pairing. Maybe a Cooper pair of DD decays to a neutron and He-3 with excess energy given off as spin energy to other DD nearby or making up a quasi particle. The linkage between spin and magnetism would be a good question to pose to Ahern.
