No. This new slant just became apparent by reconsideration of the situation between Mills, his lack of finding a lower Rydberg signature, which is in contrast to the Thermacore testing done at Lehigh, which involved nickel – and in the context of the newer findings about nanomagnetism... and also your continued belief in the role of spin coupling. It all fits. I wonder what Peter H would say? I think he is too invested in the hopeless task of trying to rationalize the lack of gammas in LENR to realize that the problem goes away as soon as one looks at other kinds of mass-to-energy conversion instead of fusion, per se. Also, why can’t protons in a magnetic field act like the electron with three separate superimposed spin states? Is it that the gluons are insufficient to allow this per the standard QM? I’m not sure that I follow this, but let’s call attention to the fact that a proton with its electron at the normal ground state feels a 12.5 Tesla magnetic field from electron spin. When that distance is halved, in going to the first redundant ground state, the field from electron spin becomes the equivalent of 156.25 Tesla (or more in Robin’s version). The strongest laboratory magnets can produced magnetic field strengths of about 40 T. This ultra high field opens up a new realm of possibilities, but I have little insight into how magnetism operates in conjunction with the zero point field. Mark, Terry, Fran or another of the ZPE cognoscenti may have a citation or two on this topic. Spin coupling is shaping up as part of the concept of “fusion-less LENR”. It can be nuclear-based, but with no fusion. I almost shudder when “metallic hydrogen” is being tossed around, as if it were a physical reality in LENR at elevated temps, but if there is a way for a version to exist, it would be due to enormous compressive forces from this ultra-high magnetic field. BTW - the XPS at Lehigh turned up evidence of 1/3 level redundancy - weeks after the experiment was over, which level (54.4 eV) carries an effective field of close to 2000 T ! No wonder this species remains lodged in nickel.
