I have just tried 0.6.5 and it boots without a problem. But that kernel
doesn't seem to support device nodes like "/dev/hidraw*" or
"/dev/input/event*" for usb hid keyboard devices. So it doesn't solve
my problem.

The message which I get with the MPD kernel while booting is:

This kernel requires the following features not present on the CPU:
cx8 cmov
Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
I don't know why the error message names "cx8" as it is part of the cpu
flags according to /proc/cpuinfo, but at least cmov remains an
unsupported feature.

Honestly, I don't understandby why SMP kernel won't work on single
CPU machine. I run it on ALIX without problem.
