No, hostapd 2.1 still segfaults, also with
ieee80211d=1
Back to 1.0 again.

Got it. The crash happens when you define country_code=DE, which I never do
(and I never define country code either).
And workaround is adding ieee80211d=1 to hostapd.conf, e.g.
country_code=DE
ieee80211d=1
2.2 is out, let see if new version fixes this.
