Ahhhhh so the secret is out.

Ebey lake is a nice place and I always liked the fact that the first gate was there (a lot less traffic) but it seems that a church group of some sort has bought the land.  I did not know about the new gate, that must have happened over the winter.

I have inquired about this lake a few times and there was very little information available.

The gate is a shame, I always wanted to contact the folks who bought the land and inquire if they would be interested in renting the lake to a group of flyfishermen.  The lake serves no purpose to anyone else due to its remote, shallow and muddy nature.  There is no beach.
So if a group leased it they could stock and manage a little fly fishing lake in Western Washington within an hour of Seattle.

Perhaps I will try to look into it further.

Perhaps you could find out who the owners of the nearby land is
and see if you can make a case for them to continue letting you
use the road and fishing there... Some landowners can be
sympathetic to flyfishermen...

The stuff is public domain I think, but I'm not sure where you'd go to
find the information.  I'm sure somebody knows.

Good luck.
