Another question for you all.

I am reading Deke Meyer's book on advanced steelhead fishing and in the
nymphing section he states that in WA fly fishing only areas  the use of
weight on your leader is illegal. I hate to say it but if this is true
then I am guilty of breaking this rule on the stilly. Until I hear this
is false I will not be doing it again. I am kicking myself for not
reading the rules more closely....

There are a few pools though that I cannot reach bottom with my 7 i.p.s.
sinktip. I used to use weight in these situations but it seems like that
is now a no-no (at least on the stilly). So if anyone is willing to
share I am interested how you tackle this problem. As always I
appreciate the advice and without the help of this board I would have
given up trying to fly fish a long time ago.
