This isn't mud at all Jeff. It's asking people to be accountable and
responsible for their actions. The reason I brought this up is that people
need to know they are making a commitment when they enter a swap so that we
can avoid this problem in the future. Life isn't always a bed of roses and
neither is this list. The fact that it took longer than expected was not
the biggest problem other than the extra work for Danny in trying to get
people to communicate.
This is also a response to John Abbott. John had a lousy Christmas with two
deaths in the family. He took the time to communicate and we appreciate
that very much. If Justin and Pat had reasons for not living up to them
they should have communicated them. If they had, it would not have been
necessary for me to be critical.

Did this "mud" really need to be slung on this list?
Maybe Justin's wife passed away, maybe Pat has been in China for the last
two months, etc.
Let's try to act like mature adults here, not tattle-tales.

Is it really that big of deal if a fly swap takes a few weeks longer to
complete?

Justin,
We haven't heard from you for a while. As a person who actively promoted
the last Fly Swap you were also one of several that flaked out without a
single response to many emails from Danny McMillin; swapmeister. He waited
an extra month but never heard anything. I, for one, was very disappointed
with Justin in particular. Also flaking out without ever responding to
emails was Pat Bolton; since he did not actively promote the Fly Swap he
gets fewer demerits. Greg Mindt also flaked out but at least he had the
courtesy to correspond. Overall I was very surprised at the lack of
responsibility and motivation on the part of these tiers. Danny did a super
job but I know he was put in a very frustrating and embarrassing position
because he had to explain to the others why there were delays and repeatedly
try to get the slackers to respond and fulfill their commitment. I hope
that this doesn't put the nix on future swaps but I also hope that people
will act like mature adults. This can be a really fun thing but everyone
has to do their part; it's simple really. Unfortunately, this situation
needed to be brought to the attention of the list.
